Ultimate Pool GQF Announcement & Rules Refresher
(For all players and captains)

We’ve set up a digital Pool so everyone can follow the action. The Qualifier runs on two tables only. Table 1 is designated as the streaming table—I’ll try to have it live on Friday if possible.

Also I will not be collecting any matches dues ($10) also I am going to cover the green fee for the following: Friday from 6pm to match's finish on two (2) Tables that we will be playing on. This will allow 1 hour of practice time. Saturday All Tables downstairs for one hour. 9am to 10am for practice then two tables after 10am for the matches until conclusion. I will not be covering any other open tables for practice after the stated times.

Schedule

Friday, September 4

• 7:00 PM – First two (2) matches begin with 4 teams participating
• Captain’s meeting will be held (rules refresher handouts provided).
• Minimum of 2 players from your team required to start the match (unless the opposing team and/or League Operator agree otherwise).
• NO REPLAYS

Saturday, September 5

• JOB opens at 9:00 AM.
• 10:00 AM – First matches (two matches running).
• Next matches 4 hours later at 2:00 PM.
• Then 6:00 PM.

Double-elimination final
If the loser-bracket team wins the final match, captains will decide whether to start at 10:00 PM or return Sunday morning. A quick 6-ball shoot-out is also an option. If the winners-bracket team wins, this becomes a moot point.

Rules – Captains’ Responsibility

Captains: It is your responsibility to make sure your players know these rules. If a problem comes up during play. The team captians will need to figure it out with each other or/and resorting back to the rule book. You may do an All Stop during this time. If either captain can't agree with a solution. Then consult with league operator.

During an active match

• Players must stay away from other players. No discussion with teammates during the match except between racks.
• Players under 450 may still receive coaching. Designate a coach in advance; that person may sit close. No Multiple coaches will be allowed. But can switch out between racks. (May not be a Time Keeper for same match)
• Cheering is encouraged—sharking is not.
• Only the opposing player may call a foul. Anyone else yelling “foul” during an active match will receive a sportsmanship violation (minimum ball-in-hand; no warnings). Penalty is at the League Operator’s discretion.
• No ear pods or earphones. No Exception. No use of electronic devices during an active match. 
• Keep a bridge nearby. Brief “ALL STOP” is allowed only for a moment while retrieving the bridge; once your hand is on the bridge the clock resumes.

Match start & player submission

• After the coin flip, captains have 3 minutes each to submit a player.
• After the 30-minute match clock expires, the winning team has 3 minutes to submit their next player.
• Players have two (2) minutes to rack and begin play. Failure to begin within the allotted time may result in a Sportsmanship Foul (League Operator decision).

Time Keeper

• May call ALL STOP only for a technical problem.
• If a player is blocked/needs the bridge (the affected player shall call the ALL STOP not Time Keeper).
• Must remain neutral.
• May not act as coach or time keep at the same time. 
• May not call “extension.”
• May only say “10 seconds” and “5 seconds.”
• May inform both players when 2 minutes remain in the match.

Conceding
If both players agree and both captains confirm, a match may be conceded with one (1) minute left on the clock—but not during an active game.

Foul-call protocol
Every player is responsible for watching their own game. If you see a foul, call it (“foul – ball in hand”). The opponent may agree or dispute. If there is genuine doubt that cannot be resolved, the call goes to the current shooter. The League Operator may mediate. Asking “Is that ball in hand?” is allowed however that opposing player doesn't have to respond. This will not be treated as a sportsmanship violation. Unless you call it a foul and then the opposing player either agrees or disagree. With this said. If the player that is shooting realizes that they commited a foul and wishes to share that with opposing player. That will be acceptable.

No replays are allowed during the GQF.

Nationals eligibility
Teams wishing to advance to Nationals: read the rules on page 22 of the rule book. Each of the 5 active team members must have played at least 2 matches before Nationals.

League Operator Role

I will primarily officiate from a distance. Players are still required to call fouls. If I clearly see a foul, I will announce it as well. I will be a neutral party during the GQF. Once I have ruled on what ever the situation. That decision will be final.

Players Waiting to Play

• Stay in contact with your captain.
• If you wish to watch the match. You must sit in the bleachers and behind the barriers that are put into place. Or you can be using the other tables for practicing. But once again no speaking to players on a active game. Results will be a ball in hand foul for the 1st offense. 2nd offense will be a loss of rack and 3rd will be a loss of the of match and 8 points awarded to opposing team.
• Take bathroom or smoking breaks before you are put up.
• Captains have 3 minutes each to put players up (total of about 10 minutes allowed before lag for break. Deliberate delay can result in a one-game loss of rack. ).
• Once the match begins you must stay and continue playing. In a true emergency, notify the League Operator and both captains immediately. If you leave the playing area without premission will result in a foul. 
• You have only 2 minutes to rack between games. Deliberate delay can result in a one-game loss of rack. There is no official clock for these intervals, but purposeful stalling will be penalized.
