Introduction: Welcome to Ultimate Pool League Central Virginia (UPL Central Virginia). This league has been established to provide a structured, fair, and enjoyable environment for players of all skill levels who share a passion for the game of pool. These bylaws are intended to serve as the official guidelines governing league operations, player conduct, and competition standards. They are designed to ensure consistency, integrity, and sportsmanship across all aspects of league play. By participating in UPL Central Virginia, all members agree to abide by these bylaws and uphold the values of respect, fairness, and competitive excellence that define our league. We thank you for being a part of the continued growth and success of Ultimate Pool League Central Virginia.
Payment: All league matches will require a total team payment of $50 per match, which includes both player match fees and green fees. From this total, $13 will be allocated as the green fee and paid directly to the host establishment. All fees are due at the end of each league night unless otherwise approved by league management. Payments must be made electronically via Zelle, Venmo, or Cash App. No cash payments will be accepted. Teams are required to submit payments as a single combined team payment rather than individual player payments. The payment information must include the team name to ensure proper tracking and recordkeeping. It is the responsibility of each team to ensure all fees are collected and submitted in full. Failure to submit required fees on time may result in late fees, point deductions, and/or ineligibility to participate in league matches until payment is received.
Late Fees: Timely payment of league fees is required to maintain fair play and league operations. The late fee and point penalty structure is as follows:
-
First occurrence: Team will receive a warning.
-
Second consecutive occurrence: Team will incur a $10 penalty fee and a 5-point deduction.
-
Third consecutive occurrence: Team will incur a $20 penalty fee and a 10-point deduction.
-
Subsequent occurrences: Penalty fees will increase by $10 and point deductions by 5 for each additional consecutive late payment.
Late fees and point penalties will reset annually at the start of each league year. Teams are encouraged to stay current with all payments to avoid penalties and maintain competitive standing.
Make-Up Matches: Teams are allowed to schedule make-up matches at any time that is convenient for both teams, up until the final two weeks of the session. Make-up matches may not be scheduled during the last two weeks of the session. All make-up matches must be played at the establishment where the original match was scheduled. Teams are responsible for coordinating with their opponents and the host establishment to ensure make-up matches are completed in a timely manner.
Overthrow: An overthrow occurs when a team exceeds the allowed points or fails to meet the weekly requirement of having at least one player with a skill level below 450 participate. If a team commits an overthrow, they will forfeit all points earned for that night’s match. Teams are responsible for ensuring they meet all participation criteria each week to avoid losing points.
Membership Points: All players are required to pay their annual league membership dues before participating in any matches. Any player who competes without having paid their annual membership will forfeit all points earned during that night’s match. It is each player’s responsibility to ensure their membership dues are paid and up to date prior to playing in league matches.
